AquaStiq Personal Water Filter review
A pocket water filter for emergencies, though its product page currently doesn't load

Is it worth it?
If you're looking at this, something probably prompted it. A boil water notice, a hurricane season that got a bit too close, or just the nagging thought that if the taps went off tomorrow you'd have two days of bottled water in the cupboard and no plan after that. A pocket filter is the cheap answer to that gap. It weighs almost nothing, it lives in a bag, and it means a stream or a rain barrel isn't automatically off limits. Here's the honest problem with this one. The product page doesn't load. It returns the site's 404, so there's nothing on it about pore size, how many litres a cartridge handles, what it's been tested against, or what actually arrives in the box. Those are the only numbers that matter with a water filter, and I can't tell you any of them, so I won't pretend it's good or bad on performance. What I can flag is the billing. It's set up as a recurring charge, which is unusual for a single piece of gear. That normally means a membership or a cartridge replacement plan riding along with the purchase. Find out exactly what recurs, how much it is, and how you cancel before you type in a card. Survival Life's checklists and articles are free to read. Start there while you sort the filter out.
Pros
- Pocket sized gear you can stash in a bag and forget about
- Needs no power, fuel or waiting, unlike boiling
- Cheap backup to sit alongside stored bottled water
- The site's own prepper checklists and articles are free
Cons
- Product page is a 404, so no specs, filter life, test data or photos
- Billed on a recurring basis and the page doesn't explain what recurs
- Straw filters generally don't handle chemicals, heavy metals or salt water

What you get
Unclear, and that's the main issue. The page returns a 404, so the only honest answer is what this category normally is: a straw or bottle style filter you drink through, plus a cartridge rated for a certain number of litres. No spec sheet, no photos, no packing list and no shipping estimate are visible. Confirm all of it at checkout.
Before you buy
- Read the checkout page carefully for the recurring amount, its frequency and how to cancel
- Look for a micron rating, cartridge lifespan in litres, and independent testing (NSF/ANSI 53 or P231) before paying
- Since it's a physical item, check the shipping time and the refund window in writing
Who it suits
Someone building a first emergency kit who is comfortable chasing down the specs and billing terms themselves; skip it if you want a filter whose test data you can read before paying
