Is it worth it?
You turn the key on a cold morning and get the slow crank. Or your drill batteries now last about ten minutes, or the laptop you like is tied to a wall socket. Replacements are not cheap, and it feels daft to bin something that is mostly fine apart from one bad cell. That is the itch this is scratching. The seller's pitch is a simple method to double the life of any battery. Worth being clear: that is their claim, not a tested result, and no evidence is offered for it. The site's own small print says the product is an experiment, that it was not technically assessed, and that some of what it describes may not be legal where you live. Credit for printing that, but it also tells you the honest ceiling. Reconditioning is real in a narrow sense. Lead acid batteries with sulphation can sometimes be brought back with a desulphating charge, and results vary wildly depending on how far gone the plates are. Lithium packs in tools and laptops are a different animal and opening them carries genuine fire risk. A guide can point you at the right technique. It cannot promise your particular battery is one of the recoverable ones. If you already tinker, own a multimeter and fancy a Saturday project, you may get something out of it. If you want a button to press, look elsewhere.
