Is it worth it?
You get up out of a chair and there's a stiffness that wasn't there five years ago. Kneeling in the garden costs you something. Stairs are a decision. That's who this is aimed at, and the pitch is built around a village in Japan called Yuzurihara, where older people reportedly farm all day without sore joints thanks to a purple sweet potato rich in hyaluronan. Joint Genesis is Dr Mark Weis's attempt to bottle that idea: keep your synovial fluid thick, keep the cartilage cushioned. Worth separating what's established from what's being sold. Hyaluronan genuinely is a major component of joint fluid, and the study the page quotes found people with age-related joint trouble have less of it. That's an association. It does not show that swallowing hyaluronan daily replaces what's missing, and the page offers no trial of this actual formula. Oral hyaluronic acid does have some small human studies behind it pointing to modest comfort improvements over a couple of months, which is a fair way to set your expectations. The village story is a hook, not evidence. If you've got mild, creeping, age-related stiffness and you're willing to give something eight to twelve weeks before judging it, this is a reasonable thing to try. If you have diagnosed arthritis, a recent injury, or pain that's getting worse, see a doctor first.
