Is it worth it?
There's a version of you that quits smoking, or stops second guessing yourself in meetings, or sticks with the gym past February. You know what to do. You just keep not doing it, and it's starting to feel like your own head is the obstacle. That's usually why someone lands on MindZoom. It's a small program you install on your PC. While you work, it flashes affirmations on screen too briefly to consciously read, and there's a silent audio option alongside. You pick from built in affirmation sets grouped by goal (confidence, study, quitting, mood) or write your own. The page says it reprograms your mind and body automatically and places thousands of positive statements directly in your brain. Treat that as the seller talking. It gestures at university research without showing what the studies actually found, and the honest position on subliminal exposure is that measured effects tend to be small and short lived rather than life changing. What it genuinely does is keep a goal in front of you every day. Writing your own affirmations forces you to say plainly what you want, which is worth more than most people expect. Go in treating it as a daily nudge rather than a machine that does the work for you, and it can earn its money. Ignore it and it does nothing.
Pros
- Runs quietly in the background while you work
- You can write and edit your own affirmations
- Cheaper than a few sessions with a coach or therapist
- Useful as a daily reminder of what you're aiming at
Cons
- Big claims about reprogramming the mind are the seller's, not proven on the page
- Only works while you're sat at the computer, so no phone or on the go use
- The page shows no price and doesn't explain that billing recurs, or how to cancel
What you get
A download for your Windows PC. Inside are affirmation libraries sorted by goal, an editor for writing your own lines, and settings for how often messages flash and how long they stay. There's a silent audio mode that plays through speakers or headphones. You leave it running in the background during normal computer use rather than sitting down for sessions.
Before you buy
- This bills on a repeat basis, so check the renewal price and how to cancel before you pay
- Check it runs on your operating system, it's built around a desktop PC
- Check the refund window at checkout, and don't treat it as help for addiction, depression or anxiety that needs real support
Who it suits
Someone motivated who spends their day at a PC and likes tools that keep a goal visible, not someone expecting it to do the changing for them
