Is it worth it?
If you're looking at this, something's probably grinding. Maybe you're wound tight most of the day, or you've got that low hum of being stuck that wouldn't show up in anything a doctor could measure. Spiritual Sticks aims straight at that, and its promise is a big one: the most powerful personal development tool in history, and all you have to do is breathe. Treat that as the seller talking. Breathwork itself is old and well travelled, and plenty of people find that slow, deliberate breathing genuinely settles them. But nothing is offered on the page to back a claim that size, and it's worth knowing that going in. What's frustrating is how little the page actually tells you. It's a video, with a transcript if you'd rather read. You don't learn how many sessions there are, how long each one takes, whether you're following along with audio or reading a method, or what you get charged each month. All of that turns up at checkout. Judged for what it most likely is, a guided way to slow yourself down and feel less frantic, that's a real thing to buy, and it costs a fraction of a few sessions with a therapist. Just don't expect it to fix a situation that needs actually changing. It's a practice, not a solution.
Pros
- Breathing needs no kit, no app and nowhere to be
- You can do it at home in a few quiet minutes
- Text transcript for people who hate watching videos
- Low cost next to in person classes or counselling
Cons
- The page barely describes what you actually receive
- Recurring charge, so it bills until you cancel it
- Very large claims with nothing offered to support them
What you get
The page is a video pitch with a link to a text transcript, and it doesn't spell out the contents. What's on sale is a breath based practice, something you do with your own lungs rather than kit you unbox. Billing is recurring, so expect a digital programme with ongoing access or monthly material rather than a one off purchase. Confirm the format on the order page.
Before you buy
- Check the price, the billing interval and how to cancel before entering card details
- Find the refund window and who you contact to claim it
- If you have heart, lung or blood pressure problems, or a history of panic attacks, run intense breathing exercises past your doctor first
Who it suits
Someone who wants a simple daily calming practice and doesn't mind a subscription. Skip it if you need to know exactly what you're getting before you pay.
