Is it worth it?
You've probably got the drawer. Two cut-out bodices, a dress that came out a size too small, and a pattern envelope you spent fifteen dollars on and never opened. Sewing was meant to be the relaxing part of your week, and somewhere it turned into a pile of unfinished things. Sewing Pattern Secrets is a one-off $67 purchase that gets you a login to a library of 155-plus downloadable patterns and 50 video lessons. You browse, pick something, download it, print it, and sew. The videos cover technique, so the pitch is that you stop breaking off halfway through to search YouTube for how to set a sleeve. The maths is the appeal. A single indie PDF pattern runs eight to fifteen dollars, so if even six or seven of these are things you'd actually make, you're ahead. The catch is that you can't see any of them before you pay. The page argues that most patterns online have bad grading and vague instructions, which is precisely what you're trusting them on, and it shows no size chart, no sample pattern and no list of what the 155 actually are. A library this size at this price is almost certainly mixed. Go in expecting to find maybe fifteen you'd genuinely sew and it's fair value. Expect 155 keepers and you won't get them.

- If you mainly sew one thing (kids' clothes, bags, menswear), confirm the library actually covers it rather than assuming
Who it suits
Someone who sews often enough to make several garments a year and wants a cheap pool of patterns to dip into. Less good for a total beginner who needs one well-drafted pattern with excellent instructions, or anyone who needs to see the sizing before committing.
